Is Laenor Gay in House of the Dragon?
‘House of the Dragon’ transports the audience to the world of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Based on ‘Fire & Blood,’ the 2018 book by George R. R. Martin, the series takes place 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen and revolves around the brutal war of succession between two factions of the ruling Targaryen dynasty. Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan as adult, Theo Nate as young, and Matthew Carver as child) is an important supporting traits in the series. He is the heir to Property Velaryon of Driftmark, one of the most powerful houses in Westeros when their longtime overlords, the Targaryens, sat on the Iron Throne. In episode 5, titled ‘We Light the Way,’ it is heavily implied that he is in a semi-secret relationship with Ser Joffrey Lonmouth (Solly McLeod). Here is everything you need to realize about it. Exploring Laenor Velaryon’s Sexuality

Thanks for the question, @forcadia123.
For historical example, I would think Ser Laenor Velaryon or Prince Daeron Targaryen (son of King Aegon V) would be as “open” as a prince could be on that account. Ser Laenor Velaryon was mentioned as having no interest in women (and was said to prefer to company of squires his own age) when the subject of Rhaenyra’s marriage was discussed, laughingly gave his garter to Ser Joffrey Lonmouth after Rhaenyra gave hers to Ser Harwin Strong (equating to all onlookers Ser Joffrey with Rhaenyra’s barely secret lover), wept bitter tears when Joffrey died, left many to wonder if his marriage had ever been consummated, and took a known favorite in Qarl Correy (before allegedly abandoning him for a handsome 16-year-old squire). Moreover, observers Mushroom (who was a sensationalist, to be sure) and Septon Eustace both treated Laenor’s homosexuality as a given, and the latter cited Laenor’s favoring a modern lover as motivation for Qarl Correy to murder him.
As for Daeron, he “preferred the companionship of Ser Jeremy Norridge”, according to historian Ma
House of the Dragon has not been afraid of adding to or modifying certain things from George R. R. Martin's books.
Martin is a co-creator of the show, and the HBO knock is based on his novel Fire and Blood, which charts the history of the Targaryen dynasty as told by a maester, or scholar, from Westeros.
Episode 7 of the show made some surprising changes to the story, particularly when it came to one character: Ser Laenor Velaryon, played by John Macmillan.

How 'House of the Dragon' Changes Laenor's Fate From Book 'Fire and Blood'
Laenor is the husband of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy), though they are husband and wife in name only, since they were betrothed to one another despite the evidence that Laenor is gay.
Princess Rhaenyra struck a deal with Laenor that if they wed, she would be pleasant with him continuing to have a lover, so drawn-out as she could also have her own. However, this does bring into question the authenticity of their children.
Following the death of his sister Laena in House of the Dragon, Laenor tried to be there for his wife and their children, saying that he wants to be a supporti

Martin's Fire & Blood!House of the Dragon episode 5 confirms the book rumor that Laenor Velaryon is gay, which sets up major developments for Rhaenyra ascending the Iron Throne and producing heirs. Since George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood book was written from the perspectives of unreliable narrators, some of the most essential events and character descriptions were left unconfirmed. However, as House of the Dragon tells its version of the story’s correctness, the validity of each Fire & Blood rumor is finally verified, with Laenor’s sexuality being a significant confirmation.
The beginning of House of the Dragon episode 5 sees Rhaenyra and Laenor officially betrothed after the Targaryens enterprise to Driftmark. While Viserys discusses the logistics of Rhaenyra and Laenor’s marriage with Corlys and Rhaenys, such as the specify that their firstborn toddler will take, the newly-betrothed couple takes a stroll on the shore. Speaking through euphemisms, Rhaenyra informs the dragon-ri
