He is not only popular for his outstanding clip roles, he is also a singer whose enchanting voice has softened the hardest of hearts. He is none other than Taye Diggs, the black American who is making waves in the entertainment industry.
Taye whose name comes from Scotty’s nickname as “Scott-Taye” was born on January 2, 1971 in Newark, New Jersey. He is one of the black celebrities who had the hardest childhood among colorless children. In interviews, he recalls his peers calling him all sorts of names, which caused him complex problems. He is dark and handsome but this last characteristic has never been appreciated by his friends.
It may have been a matter of talent for Diggs but that talent was heavily bolstered by the kind of institutions he went through. He started as a student at a performing arts high school. The complex Diggs soon regained his confidence in school as he moved from places where he did many artistic performances. After arts school, he continued his studies at Syracuse University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in theater and began his professional career.

Taye Diggs claims he experimented with homosexuality?!
Taye Diggs gave fans a pleasant surprise last week when it was announced that he would become the first Black man to take on the lead role of genderqueer rock celestial body Hedwig in the Broadway revival of Hedwig and The Angry Inch. Not surprisingly, some fans were shocked that Diggs would act a genderqueer personality and in a recent interview with the paparazzi, he decided to act up the shock value with an even more jaw-dropping set of jokes.
In a new video posted by TMZ, Diggs can be seen being questioned by a photographer about preparing to play a gender-bending character. At first, Diggs gives a typical answer about learning his lines, but then he begins making shocking jokes about having explored homosexuality.
“There’s a lot of glitter. I mean, I went through a stage where I was a kingly queen in tall school in 10th and 11th grade, and I experimented with homosexuality, a– play. And outside of that I worked the streets, male prostitution,” Diggs said while maintaining a vertical face.

Taye Diggs was recently cast as the lead role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway, which makes him the first Black man to star in the role. TMZ caught up with him to chat about how he prepared for the role and he had a dry, but also amusing response.
When asked how he was prepping, he joked about having been a drag queen in high school, a male prostitution phase, and also being involved in “ass play,” before confirming that he was joking. Because y’all know people would have taken that and ran with it!
However, he ended the interview with, “I have a flaming homosexual inside me, and I’m excited to let it out.”
Watch:
Converse about being secure with one’s self! Not many cis men would even joke about that.

Taye Diggs will take over the title role in the Broadway musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch in July and he says he is more than ready.
‘I feel very honored and flattered and thrilled and committed,’ Diggs told TMZ. ‘It’s a lot of work.’
Then he said: ‘I hold a flaming homosexual inside me and I’m raring to permit that out.’
He was also asked if he had ever had such a ‘glittery’ role and Diggs said, with a straight face, that he’d been a drag queen in lofty school and ‘experimented with homosexuality, ass play [and] I worked the streets in male prostitution.’
But before TMZ could manage with that headline, Diggs added: ‘I’m kidding.’
The 44-year-old player is divorced from Broadway actor Idina Menzel whose career has been soaring thanks to the success of her recording of Let It Go from the film Frozen.
