PRIDE EVENTS
While June is national Pride month in the US, in Columbia we like to maintain the celebrations going throughout the year. Starting with Outfest in June, this one-day festival focuses on the local community - showcasing vendors and most of the talent from the Columbia region. Headlining an indelible show in 2022 was Willow Pill, Season 14 winner of RuPaul's Queenly Race.

Columbia, South Carolina might not be the first place that comes to mind for Gay travel, but it has a vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere. The metropolis offers a merge of Southern charm and progressive spaces that LGBTQ+ visitors can appreciate. While it may not be a substantial metropolis, its smaller size allows for more intimate and authentic community interactions.
Throughout the year, Columbia hosts various LGBTQ+ events that are worth checking out. The city's annual Lgbtq+ fest event, Famously Warm South Carolina Lgbtq+ fest, is a spotlight, drawing thousands of attendees. This celebration includes a march, live performances, and parties, usually occurring in October. The city's community also hosts other events like drag shows and themed nights, offering plenty of reasons to see.
The top time to attend Columbia is in the fall, particularly around October. The weather is mild, perfect for exploring the city and participating in outdoor events, such as the Pride festivities. Columbia LGBT Walk/Run Club
Welcome to the Columbia LGBT+ Run/Walk Club! Come slay in the great outdoors! Everyone is welcome including allies! Runners and walkers of all abilities invited.
The target of the club is to foster community while enjoying some exercise in the great outdoors! For the LGBT community of Columbia this offers a chance to connect with others while promoting a healthy mind and body.
Meet at the Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park at 2pm according to the event calendar. Look for the group organizer holding a flyer next to the entrance sign. Review the group photos for a picture of the sign. Feel free to send the organizer a message if you possess any trouble.
We will initiate by stretching and doing an introduction before walking together to warm up. We’ll then break off to run or step at any pace! Sense free to push yourself on your own dash, run with a buddy, or keep walking in a group. At 3pm we’ll come back together to do a stylish down.
